Growing up in Romania and starting with little more than the clothes on their back, medical care was something that Dr. Popescu’s family considered a luxury – especially dentistry. Dr. Popescu decided that he wanted to be part of the solution to this problem, and be able to show compassion to those that were less fortunate. After dental school, between working in both Ohio and Florida, Dr. Popescu returned to Romania on dental mission trips that allowed him to provide dental care to those with little access back in his homeland.
In his spare time, Dr. Popescu loves playing beach volleyball and soccer, attending car shows, and discovering new restaurants. He’s also very involved with his church, First Baptist Church of Naples.
Frederick Eck, DDS
Dr. Eck strives to provide optimum results for each and every patient that walks through our front door. His skill and dedication to advanced techniques show his commitment to excellence in care and patient relationships. He especially enjoys managing cases involving TMJ disorder and facial pain conditions that lead to headaches or migraines.
After growing up in Springfield Illinois, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Detroit Mercy, and then furthered his education at the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study. He then purchased his first practice in Bonita Springs and has grown his footprint in building up sister practices like the one here in Marco Island.
An avid fisherman, Dr. Eck also enjoys playing golf, dining out, and spending time with his son. He’s also a member of the Bonita Springs & Marco Island Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Dominick Catania is a board certified periodontist who performs various oral surgical procedures for Bonita Dental Care. He is a 2009 graduate of the University of Florida College of Dentistry. After dental school, he completed a 3-year residency in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at the University of Florida and graduated in 2012 with a Periodontology certificate and a Master of Science degree in Oral Biology.
After his residency training, Dr. Catania became a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, which is the highest standard of knowledge and proficiency in his specialty field. In addition to the extensive implant and bone grafting training he received in his 3-year residency, Dr. Catania has taken comprehensive implant and bone grafting courses, including those offered by The Misch International Implant Institute and The Pikos Institute.
Dr. Catania is a firm believer in continuing education and is an active a member of many dental organizations including the American Board of Periodontology, the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, the Florida Association of Periodontists, the Hillsborough County Dental Association and the Hillsborough County Periodontal Association.
Due to his extensive surgical background and expertise, Dr. Catania is able to offer the highest quality treatment to his patients.
