There’s Nothing “Old Fashioned”
About Our Braces!

teeth with bracesFor some people, traditional orthodontic treatment is the best choice. Some of the reasons why our Marco Island patients choose conventional braces include:

  • More complex bite problems
  • Affordability
  • The straightforward approach
  • Predictability
  • Options like tooth colored brackets

Options for Every Personality

Yes, traditional braces typically come in metal – but at Marco Dental Care we have other materials that are loved by both adults and teens. For instance, clear brackets blend in with the color of your teeth, making them less noticeable when you’re talking with your friends or coworkers. Teens on the other hand, love our glow in the dark brackets!

What to Expect from Your Treatment

Conventional orthodontics provide predictable tooth movement for mild to severe malocclusion. Every four to six weeks, we will make adjustments to your braces to move your teeth in a systematic process. Depending on the severity of your bite, it’s normal for patients to wear braces for about a year or so. However, we can give you a more accurate estimate at the time of your complimentary consultation.

We can’t stress enough how important it is to keep your teeth and gums healthy during your orthodontic treatment. Our staff will work closely with you to create a home care plan to do just that. We recommend brushing for at least two minutes, two to three times a day. Take note to clean both above and below the brackets. Then, use a special brush or water flosser to clean between your brackets.

Doing so can help you avoid problems like “white circles” on your teeth after your treatment is complete. Be sure to schedule a cleaning every six months as well!
